DESCRIPTION:The Draelos Future Science Program is designed to give passionate students an opportunity to work alongside real scientists and gain upper-level laboratory skills! Throughout the week\, participants will:  \n\n\n\n🔬 Investigate the world of synthetic biology\, including how synthetic biology contributes to various aspects of daily life. 🧬 Practice essential lab techniques like microscopy\, pipetting\, and cell culture\, building foundational research skills. 🦠 Analyze viral structures\, compare RNA vs. DNA\, and explore how scientists designed biological systems for the COVID-19 response. 🛠️ Engage in a problem-based learning challenge to simulate real-world scientific problem-solving. 💡 Develop professional skills to prepare for future STEM opportunities. 🚀 Participate in a mystery-style lab challenge to analyze data\, communicate findings\, and work as a team to diagnose mock COVID-19 samples.
