Materials Research Society
MRS is a growing, vibrant member-driven organization of more than 11,500 materials researchers from academia, industry and government, and is a recognized leader in the advancement of interdisciplinary materials research. MRS members hail from physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and engineering—the full spectrum of materials research—and they choose MRS because it is important to their work and their careers. In MRS, they find an environment for collaboration and open exchange of ideas across all scientific disciplines. Where students and Nobel Laureates come together to share their research. Where multilateral projects are a global enterprise. And where the ultimate goal is to advance materials that improve the quality of life.
MRS Mission Statement
The Materials Research Society (MRS) is an organization of materials researchers worldwide that promotes communication for the advancement of interdisciplinary materials research and technology to improve the quality of life.
MRS Vision Statement
The Materials Research Society will build a dynamic, interactive, global community of materials researchers to advance technical excellence by providing a framework in which the materials disciplines can convene, collaborate, integrate and advocate.
Our chapter aims to professionally develop interdisciplinary global leaders with core values of community service, inclusion of diversity, and scientific integrity by organizing collaborative programs, hosting workshops and networking events, and engaging in community service. Our members will be leaders in nanotechnology with the capacity to advocate for and advance convergent research and technology to improve quality of life.
