Opportunities for Funding and Financial Aid
Acceptance into the M.S. and Ph.D. programs is highly competitive. Students admitted into either program—at UNC Greensboro or North Carolina A&T State University—are guaranteed two years of departmental assistantship support, with an additional two years available upon achieving Ph.D. candidacy.
Additional funding is often available through research assistantships supported by grant-funded faculty, institutional awards from both UNCG and NCA&T, and a range of external fellowships and scholarships. These opportunities are typically merit-based and aligned with student performance. Connecting with a potential research advisor prior to applying can help you identify funding options specific to your interests and goals.
Currently, nearly 94% of students receive some form of graduate assistantship and/or tuition waiver.
