Congratulations to Dr. Samuel Oliveira from the Department of Nanoengineering and his research team, led by postdoctoral associate Thuanny Borba Rios, for receiving a grant from the North Carolina Collaboratory. Their project, “Spatiotemporal Regulation of Juxtracrine and Paracrine Signaling Driving Macrophage and Fibroblast Proliferation,” will enhance NC A&T’s Interdisciplinary Biomedical and Engineering Core (IBEC), a facility dedicated to advancing bioengineering and biomedical research. The North Carolina Collaboratory collaborates with academic institutions and government agencies to turn research into practical solutions that serve the State and its communities. Since 2016, it has supported hundreds of projects focused on developing innovative, evidence-based outcomes that benefit North Carolina residents.
