Collaborative industrial partnerships with the expertise of the JSNN faculty. The Institute aims to attain national distinction as a science, engineering, and nanotechnology research and innovation hub for the Triad region, and it is constantly adding new instrumentation and expanding its network of collaborators and external users to support its mission.

The JSIRT’s unabated growth and success in recent years, notwithstanding the COVID-19 pandemic, has recently been recognized by the University Economic Development Association (UEDA), which selected the Institute as one of three Finalists for the 2022 Awards of Excellence in the Innovation category. UEDA is a non-profit organization established in 1976 to promote economic growth by bringing together higher education institutions, private sector businesses, government agencies, and community development entities across the country. The winner of this years’ Awards of Excellence will be announced in October at the upcoming 2022 UEDA Summit in San Antonio, Texas.
