Faculty Selected to Develop Novel Sensor Technologies
Assistant Professor Dr. Kristen Dellinger, along with a group of collaborators in the Department of Nanoengineering, has been awarded a grant ($525,000) from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for a collaborative project entitled “Advanced Materials for Chemical and Biological Sensor Technology to Protect the Soldier”. Selected by researchers at the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Soldier Center to work on joint projects, the team will develop a variety of new materials to protect soldiers against exposure to chemical and biological agents and to provide real-time detection of such threats. Collaborators include Professors Shyam Aravamudhan, Shanthi Iyer, Sherine Obare, Reza Zadegan, and Lifeng Zhang.
